I love personality tests. I used to just love the idea of them, learning things about yourself and whatnot. I guess I used to treat them more like horoscopes -- information that makes you nod and think hmm interesting, but never actually take action or make changes based on it. I'm still massively in disbelief about this. Matt and I are in the process of buying a home in the Boulder area (Erie, a nearby town). As first-time homebuyers, this has been an extremely educational process. ColderBOLDER 5K Recap

Sometimes, you try really hard for a race (me for the NYC Marathon) and sometimes you just show up. ColderBOLDER was more of the latter for me this year. 

I haven't run very much since NYC, in an effort to give my body time to recover appropriately. And when I was training for the marathon, I wasn't exactly working on my 5K speed. I knew not to set my expectations too high for this race.

I met with my coach last night (Neely Spence Gracey -- she has openings on her team roster if you're interested in working with her too) to talk about post-NYC goals. We spent some time cheering for how much improvement we saw in my training over the last 6 months, which was super happy, and about what I'm capable of doing next. Honestly, after my performance at NYC, I'm feeling like R. Kelly right now -- If I just believe it, there's nothing to it.
