2015 Goals

2015-goals

2014 was a tough but beautiful year, full of challenges and transitions. I'm pretty dang proud of myself from coming out on top -- despite getting laid off, moving from TX to NYC, spending two months apart from Matt while he finished his semester, struggling to find work in the city, trying to connect with new friends and a new church, etc. There has been so much change, but Matt and I have really loved it. And we've grown/matured so much!

I couldn't be more excited about what this next year has in store for us.

Here are some of my goals for the new year:

Health/Fitness

  1. Adventure
    • Hike once a month
    • Go on 3 backpacking trips
    • Travel -- Boston, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine
  2. Cardio
    • Get back into doing more cardio (HIIT and running)
    • Improve my running pace to sub 8 minutes for a 3 mile run
    • Improve my half marathon pace to 8:30 (and run the BK Half if I can get a spot)
  3. Strength
    • Deadlift 135 (with good form)
    • Squat 135 (with good form)
    • 10 pull-ups in a row, comfortably, from a dead hang
  4. Flexibility
    • Stretch daily
    • Improve splits
  5. Nutrition
    • Stick with IIFYM
    • Diversity my fruit/veggie intake
    • Drink more green smoothies

Blogging/Photography

  1. Improve my photography
    • Complete the A Beautiful Mess Photoshop course
    • Buy a new lens
    • Take a DSLR class
    • Monthly photography projects
    • Practice, practice, practice
  2. Start a blog store
    • Create some awesome eBooks
      • Nutrition guidelines
      • 100-day stretching challenge materials
      • Beginner yoga
      • Yoga for lifters
    • Research the idea of selling products

Personal

  1. Get Morton comfortable with other dogs
    • This means we need to follow through with all of his training homework, and keep up with his daily walks even when it's stupid cold outside
  2. Follow the Bible in a Year plan
  3. Become more gentle, more prayerful, and closer to the Lord
  4. Move closer to a subway in BK that is closer to Manhattan (aka not an hour commute to work)
  5. Add more plants to my home
