BK Half Training: Week 7

I don't have a lot of monumental/exciting stuff to share about my training last week. I had a serious sinus infection that kept me from going to work and from working out for most of the week. It was essentially a taper week, as the race is this coming weekend. 

Monday & Tuesday - REST

I was basically useless on Monday & Tuesday. I rested and stayed home. 

Wednesday - Yoga

I didn't feel up to going to the gym and I was still sneezing/coughing a lot, so I just did a 20 minute class on Yogaglo. 

Thursday - Ran 3 miles

I was back at work on Thursday, although still not feeling great. After work, I went for a super easy-paced 3-mile run. I coughed a lot, but I finished.

Friday - Biceps & Triceps

Since I hadn't lifted all week, I felt like I needed to do something. As silly as it sounds, biceps & triceps are my priority muscles -- I don't want to lose muscle in those areas -- so that's what I did. 

Saturday - Ran 6 miles

I had intended to taper my long run, so this was actually okay. I ran 6 miles at an average pace of 7:45 per mile. It didn't feel great because I was still very congested, but I'm glad I was able to do it.

Sunday - REST

I am taking it easy this week because the race is on Saturday, I want to fully recover from being sick, and I don't want to go into the race with sore muscles.
