Baby McGahen: 36 Weeks


How far along: 36 weeks + 1 day

How big is baby: the size of a chihuahua, Cabbage Patch dolls, or a papaya (18.7in, 5.73lbs). 

How I've felt in my workouts: It's not that I've been feeling bad in workouts, it's that I'm too busy.

Symptoms: General discomfort, trouble sleeping, Braxton hicks contractions, lightening crotch

Doctor Appointments This Week:

  • OBGYN - I feel like I'm in the doctor's office every day of my life at this point. I have so many appointments every week, it really overwhelms me. I don't like missing this much work, especially knowing that I'm about to be gone for 3 months from work. I have too much to do. I went into my OBGYN appointment this week with a bad attitude because I was annoyed to have yet another appointment. When I went into the non-stress test room, I heard a weird chirping sound. I asked the nurse what the sound was, and she said that it was my doctor's new puppy. I freaked out a little bit and asked if I could meet the puppy. Not only did they let me meet the puppy, but I got to hold the puppy during my appointment! I had to do the Group B Strep test & get my cervix checked, which are both uncomfortable things to do. So I was really happy to have the puppy pick-me-up. The doctor said my cervix is starting to dilate at about 1cm, but that didn't mean that labor was necessarily coming soon. She said she had some patients who were dilated at 6cm for several weeks before labor. Bodies are crazy.

Things we bought for baby: I don't think we bought anything this week, but we did take maternity photos!

What we're up to: We spent the first half of the week in lovely Breckenridge. It was so relaxing to have no agenda and to leave my to-do lists & email notifications at home. Now, we're back to being jam-packed this week. 

Prayer Requests: Dedication to finishing off a few projects in the next two weeks so that I have a few less things to be stressed about.
