BCAAs = Branch Chain Amino Acids. There are 3 BCAAs: leucine, isoleucine, and valine. These are among the body's nine essential amino acids. I'm no scientist, but these things are great. It's like a superpower vitamin for heavy lifters-- but it comes in a powder and you mix it into water.
BCAAs are recommended anyone trying to build lean muscle. BCAAs can help promote muscle recovery, encourage muscle growth, and support strength and power. I follow a lot of bodybuilders on Instagram, and almost every single one of them takes some type of BCAAs.
I typically take my BCAAs on lifting days during my workout. I have found the best recovery results with that method, so I've been sticking to it for at least a year. BCAAs have helped me feel a reduction in DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness), meaning I am still able to walk the day after leg day (haha). This is the biggest draw for me to the product.
The Myprotein product is great, and it has a much more subtle flavor than a lot of other BCAAs (which can be extremely tart and sugary). I have found that the products has helped in my muscle recovery as I have been trying to up my weights.
I also tried out the Myprotein PowerTower. My husband and I have been sharing it to store our protein in our gym bags so that we can drink that immediately after our workout. I love that the PowerTower is stackable and compact, but I do with that they could be used individually -- since the lid to one is the bottom of another, you really have to bring all 3 pods, all the time. Otherwise, this has been a wonderful storage method for our daily protein -- much better than a plastic bag!
