Tiux - Affordable Compression Socks

Disclaimer: Tiux sent me a pair of socks for free. No other compensation was paid for this post, and all opinions are truthfully mine.

I wanted to share with you guys about my sock choice for the Brooklyn Half a couple weeks ago. Tiux reached out to me about a month ago asking if they could send me a pair of their high-quality compression socks -- that same day, I had been searching for a pair of compression socks online for the race. I agreed to try a pair out during my half marathon (I know, people usually say you shouldn't ever try something new for a race, but I really wanted a pair).

Compression socks are great for runners. Tiux socks are graduated compression socks, meaning the compression is highest at the ankle and gradually decreases as the socks go up the calf. Here are the benefits of compression socks:

  • Enhances circulation and increases the level of oxygenated blood to your legs, while pumping deoxygenated blood back to your heart
  • Reduces the risk of injuries and muscle tears by minimizing muscle oscillation
  • Improves agility with heightened sense of muscle awareness
  • Improves performance with greater blood flow and oxygen delivery to the muscles
  • Accelerates the rate of blood flow back to the heart to help alleviate swollen and achy legs

When I ran the half, these socks did not give me blisters and did not chafe at all -- even after it poured rain at the end. They helped keep my muscles from fatiguing, and mentally made me feel speedy and tough.

Tiux is able to keep their prices low -- $35 a pair, with free shipping -- because they don't sell in stores and they don't pay for advertising. They operate on a word-of-mouth basis and work with bloggers to spread the word about these great socks.
