Welcome to BridgetMcGahen.CO!

After so much thought, debate, heartache, and decisiveness, I've come to the decision to rebrand my site. Welcome to BridgetMcGahen.CO!

For those of you clicking through from a SweatStretchEat.com link, thank you! Welcome and thank you so much for continuously following my blogging journey. It seriously means so much to me.

For the past year or so, I've been really torn about my blog. Some days, I would want to give it my all and other days, I just wasn't into it. I love blogging, and the creative outlet that it gives me, but sometimes I have a hard time getting my brain to stop obsessing over food and fitness. When your whole blog is about food and fitness, it's difficult to focus on anything else.

I started noticing that my time spent in prayer and reading the bible was suffering. My time spent contemplating life and marriage and friendship was flooded with thoughts of calories and negative splits, etc. I took some time off -- barely blogging/posting to really think about what I wanted to do with the site. And decided that I didn't want to stop, but I also didn't want to only write about fitness. I don't want to be a "weight loss person." The industry is so vain most of the time, and I get so easily caught up in that. I wholeheartedly think it's important and valuable for bloggers who are passionate about helping people lose weight to write about that and focus on that, but I think that's just not for me.

I love eating good food, running, and growing stronger, but I don't want to be obsessive about it in my personal life. And I don't want to encourage my readers to be obsessive about it either.

For me, this rebranding transitions me into the world of lifestyle blogging. I can write about whatever I want, including fitness and running. On BridgetMcGahen.CO, here are some of the categories I plan to write about:

  • Fitness
  • Running
  • Nutrition
  • Recipes
  • Hiking
  • Outdoor Adventures
  • Travel
  • Family
  • Marriage
  • Morton
  • Friendship
  • Prayer
  • Christianity
  • Anxiety
  • Personal Growth
  • Gardening
  • DIY Projects
  • Photography

I hope it comforts you to see a lot of the stuff you're used to on the list, and I hope it excites you to see some new stuff. It excites me!

Sidenote: I got .co for a couple reasons:

  1. Someone has been squatting on BridgetMcGahen.com for about 3 years. I've been trying to get it back. I forgot to renew it one year (because I wasn't using it, and someone snatched it up!) For some reason, myname.com is an asian research web page. Not sure why they want that URL, but I can't seem to get it from them. I'll keep trying and will buy it if I get the chance and will redirect to this URL.
  2. .CO = Colorado! Now that we're in the place where we really want to plant roots, I like the idea of my site paying a bit of homage to my new home.
