I want to teach yoga to help people shift to a happier and healthier lifestyle. I want to teach because I know there are others, like me a couple years ago, who think yoga isn't cardio enough to be considered a workout or even a valuable use of their time.
I started practicing yoga after incurring several running injuries. I didn't stretch before I ran and my muscles became tight from running day after day. Two of my friends who work out told me I needed to stretch on a regular basis. Unfortunately for my knees, I thought stretching was boring and a waste of time, so I didn't. I paid for it in injuries and sore muscles. Eventually, I thought yoga might be worth a shot. If I was in a class, maybe I would actually do it.
Little did I know that I would fall in love with yoga. I ended up liking yoga more than I liked running and, honestly, I found it more challenging.
My hope is to make yoga accessible to anyone who is interested. Yoga has helped me move towards wellness and I know it can do the same for others. I want to help people find balance, strength, stillness, peace, and true joy in their practice and in their lives.
